Nissan delivers reliable, affordable, fun Rogue S
By Tom | on Tuesday, October 13, 2020
A few years ago, I purchased my 2017 Rogue Sport with 11,000 miles on it for about $16,500. This is my fourth Nissan and now my favorite auto brand after having many cars over the years. The Rogue Sport is a no-frills but fun compact SUV to drive. Despite what the critics say, it is actually quite fast and nimble on the open road. We've driven to San Diego, the beaches of Sonora, Mexico, and the rural Arizona mountains several times. Loaded with four passengers, the Sport still has a lot of juice to pass quickly and safely at all speeds. And the high ground clearance is great for rough Arizona roads. I really like the CVT transmission because it delivers smooth power, unlike some under-powered CVT-transmission cars. This was most surprising to me. Controls are simple, stereo works just fine, and seats are comfortable enough but a bit hard after long trips. I'm averaging about 29mpg, so gas costs are very minimal. Easy to maintain, and no problems at all with about 37,000 miles on it. Nissan is solid as usual.… - 4.0
High value, really pretty decent!

I'm coming from a 2013 Honda Fit. My experience is this car is very quiet, comfortable, and pleasant to drive. Bit of a tank compared to the Fit, so parking was a little learning curve. And I do agree you should be able to release the tailgate from the key fob, or at least from the dash. Like the others have said, it's a bit under powered. Long as you're a mature driver, and don't try to pass like a maniac, not a problem. I'm averaging 27 mpg around town, which is pretty darn good. Best so far is 39.7 mpg. Pretty phenomenal for a non hybrid vehicle that weighs TWICE what my Fit weighs. Enable the "Sport steering" to rid of the understeer. Be on the look out for deals, now that the 2020's are arriving. I got mine for 16K, certified pre owned. For that price, I don't think you can do much better.… - 5.0
Comfortable! Solid gas mileage. LOTS of options.

Purchased this car in November 17. Nicest car I have ever owned. Has everything I need. I am six foot three inches and can get in and out easily as I am older and not as flexible as I used to be. This car is very reasonably priced for all the options I have. Love the AWD. Love the remote start. Great ride!…
